Home Chiropractic, Colouring and other Fun!

Before bed tonight, we had a play sesh downstairs.  Shaun asked me to crack his back, so I let Sam walk on it... which led to JUMPING on it and JUMPING off of Shaun.  Markers were left out from craft time and this also took a turn for the worst.  Never a dull moment!
Only moments after this photo, Sam jumped off Shaun's back and over his head.  I don't want to brag but I think this kid is going to make his momma really rich!!! ;)
The Doc in action!  Quick stomp up and down Shaun's spine with the finishing move and a huge jump off his side.
Apparently there was no more room on Sam's page to colour, so he drew on his own face and teeth.  Ooops.

Today we went to the Westjet Kids' Christmas Party.  It was a wintery wizardy theme (even a Harry Potter impersonator wandering around!) with tons to do for the kids.  Sam was amazed by the beautiful lights, hundreds of kids and things to do... and he did it all on only a 30 minute nap!

First stop was this giant snow globe... Sam was a little overwhelmed by the light, music, huge crowd and lack of sleep so we decided to have lunch.
Sam got to choose a bag of chips with his lunch.  He got Cheesies... GIANT Cheesies.  He couldn't even believe it!
They obviously looked extra big to Sam because he was opening his mouth so wide it was pulling his eyes down!!!  VERY FUNNY!
BITE!
Sam and I were doing a chips cheers for daddy and Sam decided to snap my salt and vinegar chip!  I had just finished saying that I couldn't even remember when the last time I had a little bag of chips all to myself.
Just finishing up lunch and getting ready to explore.
One of the many beautiful groupings of Christmas trees set up around the center.
Made our first Christmas craft... nothing says Merry Christmas like the number 9 and a butterfly!
This is wear Sam found his soul mate.  Decided to hold hands...
... then honk it's nose...
... kiss...
... and a hug good bye.
Next stop was the bouncy house.  There were three different bouncers and this was the one for 0-3 year olds.  Sounds tame but it was CRAZY!!!!
We've been talking a lot about Santa at home, so Sam was soooo excited when he noticed him.  He was trying to look past the other people in line to see him, saying ho ho ho and Hi Santa, eyes all sparkling that he was actually there.  However, once it was our turn to see Santa, Sam was holding onto me sooo tight that you'd think I was trying to hand him over to a dirty homeless man!  Santa asked Sam questions and Sam couldn't even say a word.  Mrs Claus was kind enough to hold Sam for the picture.  After the photo, Santa told Sam that he loved him (and I teared up like a huge loser) and Sam said "Laa ooo Santa, buh-byeeee".  I showed him this picture on the camera and it was like he couldn't even believe it.  He showed daddy the picture, a security lady who asked him about Santa had to also see the picture and when we got home he sat and stared at it.  Absolutely star-struck!
Another pretty tree... this is where we had our encounter with the security guard as Sam really thought he deserved one of these stars!!! (Note, it was 1.5 hours past nap time!)

Shaun had been so patient and waited in this line for over an hour to get Sam's picture drawn.  In the end it turned out less than worth it, but it was kinda fun and a nice momento!
Our only family shot of the entire event.  We posed with the little airplane (whose name is Chubby, I believe).  Unfortunately I had to cut most the airplane out because some stinkin kid was in every shot and his even stinkier parents didn't clue in to give us one minute for a photo.  Note to parents:  when you see a family getting their picture taken, assume that it's their only chance to have a group photo and gather up your wild child (who I saved by grabbing his leg as he was about to plummet to his death onto the concrete floor and with no thank you I might add).  Please.  Shoot that was definitely my Scrooge moment... ooops!
It truly was a very nice day with my boys... Christmas 2010 is off to a great start.  Can't even wait to see what is to come in the next month!

Skateboard ADDICT

Most kids like Dora or Thomas the Train or the Wiggles... not Sam.  He love love LOVES skateboard videos.  All day.  Everyday.  Skateboards.  Skateboarding puppies.  Santa on skateboard.  Anything skateboarding makes him happy (unless Santa crashes, then it's full on lay-on-floor meltdown!!!)  I see a little twinkle in Shaun's eye when our nearly 2 year old asks for skate videos or rides a cutting board like a a skateboard!  He's his daddy's boy for sure!!!  Do you think there is such thing as a skateboarding basketball player?  Cross your fingers for me!

Yes, Sam is wearing one of Shaun's skate shoes in this photo... and every other day of my life!

First Big Snow Fall

The day after the snow came down, I was home with Sam so we ventured out to the mailbox.  It was exciting to see Sam's reaction to snow.  Very very very skeptical at first, almost angry about it.  Once he touched it and saw that he could knock snow piles down, Sam was sold!!!  He loves the snow but doesn't do well with the cold, just like his mommy!!!  He points out the window at the snow and says 'No?' and we agree, then he furrows his brow and says 'Cold!' then crosses his arms and says 'brrrr'.  Such a sweetie!

Showing me (and monkey) the change that happened over night!
A very confused and concerned little boy
Oh wait a minute...
LOVE snow!

An Apple a Day...

So much for that theory... Sam came down with a boogery cold cold one day after this picture.  Not impressed.

Teddy Bear's Tea Party

A wonderful play date at Sam's friend Parker's house.  A teddy bear tea party... it's days like today that make us grateful that we have have amazing, thoughtful, fun mommies in our life to plan parties for the kidlets!

"When are our friends going to get here, Parker?"
Tea-partying!
The youngest tea party baby (besides the one baby belly!)
My handsome boy enjoying Parker's cool toys!
Chillin' with Baby A
This necklace was a big hit... I ended up wearing it for a long time forgetting that Sam had put it on me.  Sam and Jack liked the same toys, at the same time... the EXACT same time.  Needless to say, sharing is a very very hard thing to teach.
Another big hit was this baby bouncy chair... pretty sure Sam was WAY over the weight and size recommendation!  He LOVED it though.  Big baby in a little chair!
Our beautiful mother-daughter hostess team (just missing their partner in crime Auntie Cori!)
Six little monkeys jumping on the couch!
For some reason I remember these group shots being much much much easier to take a year ago...
Princess P makes Sam wait his turn.
Thanks for the wonderful day Kaysi, Parker and Cori... soooooo much fun.  Maybe we could make it a tradition!?!?! :)

Cousin Kaili Comes to Visit

We were so lucky to have Sam's cousin Kaili come to visit today.  She lives a few hours away and we never seem to get to Shaun's parents' house the same weekends she is visiting.  Sam was totally in love!  He followed her around, chased her, hugged her, said her name... and Kaili is sooo great with him.  Patient and kind, just what every little cousin needs!

Quick chat before Sam had to head out for his nap.
Hanging out in the Club House... we even let Grandpa in to play!
Perfect.
Do they make older cousin's more than this!!??
Family shot... take by Kaili
This one taken by Grandpa.  What a nice day together!

This is the way we polish the floor, polish the floor, polish the floor.  This is the we polish the floor on a Thursday morning!
