Baby Ross - Photo Shoot

The Ross family welcomed their second daughter into the world last month, and this weekend I got to meet her and take some photos.  With the help of a very wonderful friend, we posed Tannah and attempted to capture her sweet personality.  Baby T put up a good fight, but Lindsay and I were able to get some really great shots.  Thanks Linds for your baby posing help and thanks Kays for letting me take some pics.  Here are my favs...

On the 1st Day of Christmas...

TWO WEEKS People, TWO WEEKS!

Just two weeks until the big man in red comes to visit our house... HOW EXCITING!  No better way to celebrate his soon arrival than a supper with some of our favorite people.  We spent a warm Sunday evening with the Gordays and the Dayton boys (sure missed Chelsey).  We did some sledding (about 2 runs each) out of their backyard and finished the night off with a Chinese food feast.  Absolutely wonderful!

15 DAYS!!!!

This Saturday was a nice warm ("warm" is relative) evening so we thought we'd head down to the Airdrie Festival of Lights.  Last year we missed our chance and the rest of December was far too cold for little Sam.  This year, we were on it!  It's pretty darn cool... the decorate the large park with hundreds and hundreds of lights.  Admission is by donation only.  The walking path is nice a cleared, perfect for pulling our wagon or pushing a stroller.  They have activities set up (fire pits, tent with colouring and movies, crafts) and a train ride that you can take through the park.  If you go down be prepared for many people, MANY strollers and MANY MANY dogs!  If the crowd doesn't scare you away, you'll be in for some good old family fun!

Another busy week in Dec and I didn't get a chance to blog each day.  We did some little things each day to get ready for Christmas...

It looks like Sam thought it was a bad idea,  but they had a great night together.  Little Grinch!  We are so thankful that Gramma and Grandpa could come to play with Sam so that Shaun and I could go to a Christmas party.  They even stayed and watched Sam do his swimming lessons!

On the 18th day until Christmas, Sam received his email from Santa... perfect!

20 Days Folks!

I was lucky to get to spend an extra afternoon with Sam today.  We had tons of fun working on getting more things ready for Christmas.

My goofy little elf was in charge of tape.  Sounds crazy, but he was the best little tape holder around.

Ok... we probably ate more dough than we should have but it was sooooo yummy.   Sweetest little fingers hard at work.

We are 21 Days Away!

We got a bit of a late start on getting our tree up this year.  Sam has been sick and I've been fighting report cards, so we just haven't had the energy.  With my report cards done and us being trapped in the house, today was the PERFECT day to get the tree up.
We took it out of the box and Sam quickly chose who each of the sections belonged to.  He let Shaun and I get it set up before he got too involved.  Then... before our eyes he was emptying containers of ornaments. Throwing them into a tin.  Unraveling the string of beads.  Jumping over earlier mentions piles of ornaments.  CRAZY!  We quickly got the garland on and let him start to hang ornaments.  He was very concerned that we all 'share' and put them on together.  He'd choose one for each of us to hang.  Like last year, there was a really over decorated branch.  He loved hanging each ball and worked hard to get them all on the same little area.  Funny boy.
We only had one casualty (so far), which for how 'helpful' Sam was being is really great.  The tree is a little bland so we are going on an ornament hunt in the next couple weeks.  Add one each.  Start to a great family tradition.

Sam posing with the tree.  He chose to hold this ornament.  It's his baby's first Christmas ornament.  I love opening the Christmas box.  It's like a little stroll down memory lane... gifts, crafts and trinkets of years past.  I love this time of year!
