Today we went to the Westjet Kids' Christmas Party.  It was a wintery wizardy theme (even a Harry Potter impersonator wandering around!) with tons to do for the kids.  Sam was amazed by the beautiful lights, hundreds of kids and things to do... and he did it all on only a 30 minute nap!

First stop was this giant snow globe... Sam was a little overwhelmed by the light, music, huge crowd and lack of sleep so we decided to have lunch.
Sam got to choose a bag of chips with his lunch.  He got Cheesies... GIANT Cheesies.  He couldn't even believe it!
They obviously looked extra big to Sam because he was opening his mouth so wide it was pulling his eyes down!!!  VERY FUNNY!
BITE!
Sam and I were doing a chips cheers for daddy and Sam decided to snap my salt and vinegar chip!  I had just finished saying that I couldn't even remember when the last time I had a little bag of chips all to myself.
Just finishing up lunch and getting ready to explore.
One of the many beautiful groupings of Christmas trees set up around the center.
Made our first Christmas craft... nothing says Merry Christmas like the number 9 and a butterfly!
This is wear Sam found his soul mate.  Decided to hold hands...
... then honk it's nose...
... kiss...
... and a hug good bye.
Next stop was the bouncy house.  There were three different bouncers and this was the one for 0-3 year olds.  Sounds tame but it was CRAZY!!!!
We've been talking a lot about Santa at home, so Sam was soooo excited when he noticed him.  He was trying to look past the other people in line to see him, saying ho ho ho and Hi Santa, eyes all sparkling that he was actually there.  However, once it was our turn to see Santa, Sam was holding onto me sooo tight that you'd think I was trying to hand him over to a dirty homeless man!  Santa asked Sam questions and Sam couldn't even say a word.  Mrs Claus was kind enough to hold Sam for the picture.  After the photo, Santa told Sam that he loved him (and I teared up like a huge loser) and Sam said "Laa ooo Santa, buh-byeeee".  I showed him this picture on the camera and it was like he couldn't even believe it.  He showed daddy the picture, a security lady who asked him about Santa had to also see the picture and when we got home he sat and stared at it.  Absolutely star-struck!
Another pretty tree... this is where we had our encounter with the security guard as Sam really thought he deserved one of these stars!!! (Note, it was 1.5 hours past nap time!)

Shaun had been so patient and waited in this line for over an hour to get Sam's picture drawn.  In the end it turned out less than worth it, but it was kinda fun and a nice momento!
Our only family shot of the entire event.  We posed with the little airplane (whose name is Chubby, I believe).  Unfortunately I had to cut most the airplane out because some stinkin kid was in every shot and his even stinkier parents didn't clue in to give us one minute for a photo.  Note to parents:  when you see a family getting their picture taken, assume that it's their only chance to have a group photo and gather up your wild child (who I saved by grabbing his leg as he was about to plummet to his death onto the concrete floor and with no thank you I might add).  Please.  Shoot that was definitely my Scrooge moment... ooops!
It truly was a very nice day with my boys... Christmas 2010 is off to a great start.  Can't even wait to see what is to come in the next month!
